Fish Tank

The fish tank shown here is almost filled to the top with water. Without using a measuring cup of any kind, or a measuring stick, can you remove enough water from the tank so that the water level will be exactly in the middle of the tank? The solution is easier than you think! Note: This can also be tried with a glass of water, which will be much less sloppy then a fish tank.
