Amerigroup Corp. (AGP)

8:11 ET Amerigroup delays 10-Q filing for period ended Sept. 30
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Amerigroup Corp. (AGP) late Thursday said it will delay the filing of its Form 10-Q for the period ended Sept. 30. The Virginia Beach, Va.-based company said the delay is due to information received anonymously by KPMG LLP, the company's registered public accounting firm, that raised issues regarding the estimates of Amerigroup's claims payable and related reserves. After an investigation, Amerigroup has determined that the allegations in the communication are unfounded. However, KPMG was unable to complete its review of Amerigroup's financial statements on time because the communication was received shortly before the filing deadline. Additionally, Amerigroup said that it expects damages and penalties related to the Qui Tam litigation against the company to be between zero and $524.7 million.
